Things to Do
The St. Patrick's Day Parade in South Boston is the longest-running, biggest, and most popular parade in the United States. The parade features colorful floats, a marching band, traditional Irish music, dancers, and costumed performers, as well as representatives from different Irish cultural organizations.
Castle Island is South Boston’s unique escape from the bustling urban center. An isolated peninsula, this historic spot features an approximately three-mile loop jutting out into the water and circling back in. It’s great for walking and biking and is popular with kiteboarders and beachgoers. Visitors to Castle Island can also tour the historic Fort Independence and learn more about its rich history.
